Jen Connell, LAc, MaOM
I am grateful to work with people as I do — helping them heal, overcome pain or illness and feel well. My experience includes treating a broad array of health conditions and chronic illnesses, especially pain, immunological, skin and digestive conditions. I also treat women’s health concerns including reproduction, postpartum imbalance and menopausal issues. Our lifestyle, emotions and spirit influence our health, so I provide advice on diet and discuss ways to bring balance and healing. I do a lot of listening because I find that people hold the keys to their own healing. My role is to help people access what they're already capable of.
In private practice as a Licensed Acupuncturist since 1999, my Masters in Chinese medicine comes from Northwestern Health Sciences University (NWHSU). I also hold a B.A. from Simmons College in Boston. After acupuncture school, I completed a 3-year mentorship with a third generation native Vietnamese practitioner of classical Chinese medicine. I returned to Northwestern Health Sciences University as a part-time adjunct faculty member in 2002. Today, I still supervise acupuncture interns as they complete their practicums at NWHSU clinics.
Other experience includes working as a practitioner of Chinese medicine at Fairview University Medical Center’s Mind Body Spirit Clinic, serving on the board of directors for The Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association of Minnesota and being a member of the CAOM steering committee.
Prior to becoming a health professional, I spent many years working in the natural health retail industry in the Twin Cities. Though primarily an acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist, I use my knowledge of Western herbs and nutritional supplements to assist me in guiding my patients.
